"I found Ask A&K builders from the website Bark. I spoke to a number of companies but I was drawn to this husband and wife team because they sounded like a careful small family firm. My instinct from that initial telephone call proved to be correct. Xheni goes out with his team doing the work and Neda is at home managing the accounts. Everything they do seems to be done gently and thoughtfully. This means that not only are they personable and amenable but also in their work they are always very clean and tidy, in set up, during the work and afterwards. So during the work your house never seems too bad. The first job they did was for my 92 year old mother who is quite deaf and nervous. They carried out the work without upsetting her in any way. They ended up doing quite a lot of remedial small and medium tasks culminating (so far) in rebuilding her tiled steps. Every time she now steps onto her door step she is thrilled by what she calls her steps built ‘con amore’. They give her pleasure every day. The team has also been renovating my mother in laws house. She is 82 and has Alzheimer’s. There also they have done all sorts of work from plumbing and electrics through to painting, decorating, woodwork, tiling and building work. They have managed her difficulties and have left her feeling like she has a home that is cared for. In summary there seems to be no small job they won’t take on or large job and everything is accomplished with smiles and efficiency. I was loath to write this recommendation because I am sure they will become too busy to work for me but I wish them well and every success - they deserve it."
